The MOFET Institute, an institution that is unique both in Israel and worldwide, was founded in order to meet the professional needs of the teacher educators in the colleges of education. Teacher educators from the range of fields and disciplines offered in the colleges of education in Israel meet up at the Institute where the corpus of knowledge of the teacher education profession is consolidated and tools for the use of the teacher educators are created.

The concept of MOFET INTERNATIONAL is based on the principle of communities throughout the world taking advantage of both the knowledge that exists at the Institute in the field of teacher education and education in general and its unique expertise in the field of training teacher educators and developing infrastructures for doing so.

The notion of establishing MOFET INTERNATIONAL arose both as a result of specific requests from countries and organizations whose representatives appealed to MOFET with regard to cooperative ventures in the field of education, and as a result of the international experience that has been garnered over the years, particularly by means of the virtual and international conferences that have been held in Israel.
