The Online Academy for Teaching Jewish Studies - An Interdisciplinary Program

This interdisciplinary program is an online program of study designed to foster and improve the effectiveness of teaching Jewish studies.

Program Objectives

The program will enable the participants to broaden their content-knowledge in several areas of teaching Jewish subjects, while emphasizing the didactics of teaching these subjects. Participants who complete the program will have acquired tools for teaching several Jewish subjects and for integrating the contents of these subjects into their lessons.

Study Program

The program consists of all the required and elective courses that are offered in the academy's various programs. As so, it enables relating to principles that are common to the teaching of these subjects but also focusing on challenges, strategies and teaching methods in each individual field. Participants will be able to discuss challenges facing teachers and students, propose strategies and teaching methods to help cope with these challenges, become familiar with new and creative ways to teach Jewish subjects, including the use of technological.


Upon successful completion of eight courses – six required courses plus two electives, for a total of eight credit points (the equivalent of 224 study hours), the student will be granted a Graduation Certificate indicating the completion of an interdisciplinary program for teaching Jewish subjects. The certificates are issued by MOFET's Online Academy, with the approval and supervision of the Ministry of Education.
