Eylon, Bat-Sheva Prof.
Professor Bat-Sheva Eylon is the current head of the Science Teaching Department at the Weizmann Institute of Science. She holds an M.Sc. in physics from the Weizmann Institute and a Ph.D. in science education from Berkeley University. She specializes in the learning and instruction of physics and science, and in the professional development of teachers. Her research focuses on concept learning, high-order learning and inquiry skills in physics and science, and on the longitudinal professional development of in-service science teachers. She chaired the National Professional Committee for Physics Teaching in Israel for 10 years, was one of the founders of two national Teachers Centers, and is presently serving as the educational head of the Rothschild-Weizmann M.Sc. Program for Excellence in Science Teaching. Bat-Sheva Eylon is a fellow of the AAAS and holds the Chief Justice Bora Laskin Chair of Science Teaching.
